Although not exactly glamourous, the garage door is a very large blank canvas that has a definite impact on your home’s overall aesthetics and curb appeal. The horizontal garage door offers a clean, sleek look that can be cladded or painted to match the existing trim of a home or even match the front door.
For 50 years or more, garage door dimensions have changed very little. 1-Car doors are 7’ or 8’ tall by 8’ to 9’ wide. 2-Car doors are the same height by 16’ wide. Why are we still parking our vehicles in the driveway when we have 10’ to 12’ ceiling heights? Because our larger vehicles can’t fit under the short header. There is a better way!
Our system is virtually maintenance free and includes one of the best warranties in the garage door industry. There are no springs or counterbalances or oil. Hardware is aluminum and galvanized steel.

The HGD is strong due to the door sections being vertical (shorter) with mechanical attachment at both the top and bottom. It is not possible to push the top of the garage door and reach the pull cord to break in. With automatic locking designed within the opener, forced entry is no longer a concern.
The HGD typically uses a pressure switch on both the opening and closing edge of the door. Much like an elevator, when pushing on the safety edge, the door will stop and reverse in both directions. No more photo eyes! Everyone has hopped over the photo eye of a vertical door and the door keeps moving. When opening, a vertical door will not stop after hitting storage in the ceiling, a tall obstruction such as a ladder or a car on a lift. There is a better way!
